A PDF won't open

Try these in order:

  1. Password: if PDF Reader asks for one, the file is protected. Ask whoever sent it for the password.
  2. Download it again: a file that didn’t finish downloading is often cut short. Open the email or chat and save it once more.
  3. Open it from the files app: some apps share a file in a way that stops working after a while. Save it to the phone first, then open it.
  4. Check it’s a PDF: a Word or image file renamed to .pdf won’t open as a PDF.

If it still won’t open, contact us and tell us where the file came from. If you can, attach a screenshot of the error.
