Make PDF Reader your default PDF app

If you’d like every PDF to open in PDF Reader:

  1. Tap any PDF in another app.
  2. When Android asks which app to use, choose PDF Reader.
  3. Tap Always.

If another app opens PDFs without asking, clear its default first. In Android’s Settings, open Apps, choose that app, then Open by default, and tap Clear default preferences. The next PDF you tap will ask again.

Menu names differ a little between phone brands. If you can’t find Open by default, search Android’s Settings for “default”.
